In the heart of Aberdeen, Saskatchewan, I witnessed a tense predator-prey interaction, as I often do while photographing snowy owls. This particular owl, perched on a power pole, exhibited unusual behavior, repeatedly flying down to the ground and back up. Intrigued, I ventured into the snow-covered field to investigate. The field, though swathed, still held grain, and mice scurried out with each step I took. The owl, surprisingly trusting, allowed me to capture this moment with my 600mm lens within just 15 minutes. This image is part of a Limited Edition (8x10 to 900) and a Conservation Edition (30x40 to 20).
